The Minister of Action and Public Accounts assured that the exceptional measures for March would be renewed in April, regardless of the size of the companies.

As in March, taxes, payroll taxes and April will be deferred, regardless of the size of the company, said Gérald Darmanin Friday. " Companies experiencing financial difficulties linked to the health crisis will have the possibility of requesting a postponement of their deadlines for direct taxes. In April, this mainly concerns the tax on wages, "said the Minister of Action and Public Accounts in an interview with Ouest-France.

The minister reiterated, however, that this was a " deferral ": " It is still too early to debate what we will do with the deferred charges and taxes. These revenues are essential to finance pensions, hospitals, social benefits ”. Gérald Darmanin, however, admitted that certain sectors of activity would take time to recover from such a health crisis, citing the example of hairdressers. " But this is a debate that we will have when the time for reconstruction comes. For the moment, what is essential is to save businesses. The state has never taken such measures, "he said.

This " exceptional effort " is financed " by debt ", added the minister, stressing that France had " healthy public finances ". Interest rates are not necessarily as low for all countries. The financial markets trust the signature of France. We also continue to have VAT and income tax revenue, and some companies are showing solidarity by continuing to pay taxes and charges that they could defer, because they have the cash for it, ”added the minister.

32,000 companies " benefited from the benevolence of taxes in March, " according to the minister. " As of March 15, 530,000 employers have requested a postponement of their charges to the Urssaf for an amount of 3.6 billion euros, " he said.
