The first deceased Covid-19 police officer was a recognized national expert

He is the first police officer in France to die from the Covid-19. The father of two teenage girls was hospitalized Thursday evening. He died on the night of Thursday to Friday.

This major was a recognized national expert, trainer in intervention techniques and safety. As such, he worked at the Central Directorate of Recruitment and Training of the National Police, whose premises are located in Lognes, Cours des Petites-Ecuries.

He had trained many colleagues who appreciated him

A site on which around 200 people work, police, administrative and contractual. This 54-year-old official did not therefore work directly in contact with the public. He was, however, known to many police officers, whom he had trained during his career. He had started his trade in a police station in the Yvelines and had gone through the border police.

“He was so kind, generous and jovial. He was a man of value, kind, always with a smile and very professional. He liked to pass on his knowledge. He was very much appreciated by his colleagues, ”confided one of them with emotion, who also works at Lognes. "We will miss him terribly."

Both the police and the gendarmes are among these professionals who continue their mission, despite the traffic restriction measures imposed by confinement. A measure decreed by the government, to fight against the pandemic of Covid-19, and that the police force are striving to enforce. In the gendarmerie, it was on March 26 that one of theirs died from Covid-19.
