Karlsfeld - Until 2014 Marco Brandstetter was on the Karlsfeld municipal council. Now after a six-year break, he has moved back in for the alliance for Karlsfeld. In 2014, the deacon, who works in the Evangelical Church Office in Munich, had "consciously stopped", as he says, and no longer ran. Back then, there were professional reasons. "But it was also the experience that a single party can decide everything it wants to get through." The own faction, the alliance for Karlsfeld, could “not be very effective”. Despite many suggestions and initiatives, they could hardly have made a difference. "It was a big frustration."
Even if the CSU no longer has the majority of seats in the municipal council after this municipal election, Marco Brandstetter estimates that nothing would change in their position of power: "With the two mandates of the free voters, they can continue to implement their plans." he takes on the old, new task with a new impetus: “I am a very emotional and impulsive person. There will be no quiet sessions with me, I can already promise that. ”
However, Brandstetter had not expected that he would actually be elected now that he was put back on the list. He moved from 10th place to 4th place and thus belongs to the five-member faction again. “We wanted young people to be elected.” Brandstetter was born in 1964, the rest of his group are the same or older. After all, 23-year-old Sebastian Hofner has been heaped up from 23rd to 10th place.

One of the departing members is the architect Bernd Rath - he is no longer on the municipal council. "For reasons of age - I am already 81 years old - I gave up one of the Alliance's top list positions before the start of the elections, so that the younger ones get their turn." And he adds: "Of course, I will be part of mine To continue to bring opportunities - and of course also within the framework of my state of health - into our community. ”After Holger Linde, who was previously with the CSU, he is the second successor.
