  • The city of Dachau expects tax losses due to the Corona crisis.
  • That is why she uses the red pencil for various projects.
  • The sufferers are the skaters and the burns.

Dachau - No, he didn't want to “completely bury” anything. But at least for the time being pushing until the "dimensions" of the budget crisis as a result of the Corona crisis are foreseeable, he thinks that is the order of the day. This sad message from the Mayor initiated the first meeting of the Dachau Holiday Committee, which will take over the work of the City Council in the coming weeks. The panel saw it similarly - and turned the vacation committee into a savings committee.

The plan of OB Florian Hartmann and the combing department therefore provides that individual, already decided projects will be postponed first, and then - when the first effects of the crisis can be estimated in early summer - either actually deleted by the new city council or put back on the track to become. The first victims of this postponement are the Dachau volunteer fire brigade and the city's youthful skaters.

City of Dachau has to save: Actually, a further expansion of the skate park was planned

The latter have been using their skate park on Kufsteiner Straße with enthusiasm since 2006, which is why a further expansion was planned after a first expansion in 2012. On an additional area of 420 square meters - east of the existing facility - ramps of different difficulty levels should be created, which are particularly suitable for younger children and beginners. The youngsters were even allowed to work on the planning of this measure, which cost around EUR 170,000. City Councilor Jürgen Seidl (FDP) recognized that "the young people step on their feet when the weather is nice". But he does not see an “absolute necessity” for the measure in view of the budget situation. Christa Keimerl (SPD) also saw it this way, although she admitted that she hurt the postponement of the measure: "Back then, we fought hard for the park." On the other hand, there was a skate park - even if it was too small - which is why she also wanted to leave the final decision on the expansion to the new city council. Only the two Greens Luise Krispenz and Thomas Kreß and Alliance City Councilor Sabine Geißler wanted to expand the park despite the unclear household situation. Kreß justified this with the fact that currently cheaper offers can be expected when tendering: "After the crisis, everyone will run and it will definitely be more expensive."

City of Dachau wants to save on the fire department's exhibition pavilion

On the other hand, there was unanimity regarding the expansion of the fire service equipment house on Fritz-Müller-Weg. While the planned expansion of the existing building is to be continued, the exhibition pavilion planned for the historic aerial ladder vehicle is now available. According to CSU spokesman Florian Schiller, one could build it "next year or the year after next". The head of the office, Josef Hermann, also admitted that the pavilion, which cost around 190,000 euros, was “not necessary for the operation”. Franz Vieregg (ÜB) found it basically "nice to have such a historical exhibit", but in the current situation the old vehicle would have to be accommodated in the vehicle hall. FDP man Seidl even called the pavilion a "luxury problem". And: "All sides have to make sacrifices."

In the end, Mayor Hartmann emphasized that the postponed projects were not canceled. "But we won't make a mistake if we wait." Figures on how difficult the crisis will be for the Dachau city budget will only be available in a few months, but "at the moment we just don't know anything ".
