Coronavirus: a complaint for "endangering the life of others" at the Mougins nursing home

A complaint against X for “endangering the life of others” was filed by the family of a resident of the La Riviera nursing home in Mougins (Alpes-Maritimes), where 29 people have died since March 20, said the parquet floor of Grasse on Saturday.

"A complaint has been filed and an investigation is underway," said Fabienne Atzori, prosecutor of the Republic of Grasse, confirming information from the daily newspaper Nice-Matin .

In two weeks, “La Riviera”, one of the four accommodation establishments for dependent elderly people in the commune of Mougins, near Cannes, recorded 29 deaths among some 110 residents, direct or indirect victims of Covid-19. Full screening of staff and residents has only just started.

"If I had my father or my mother in the establishment, the first thing that I would do would be to withdraw it" , indicated Friday to AFP Richard Galy, mayor LR of Mougins. “I have been asking everyone to test for almost two weeks. (...) Day by day, the number of people affected has increased, as has the number of deaths. (...) It is something apocalyptic, a massacre " , confided the elected official, who proposed to requisition a hotel for the still valid people, a solution refused Friday at a meeting with the Regional Agency of health (ARS), the sub-prefecture of Grasse and the Korian group which manages this Ehpad.

Saturday, the president of the department of Alpes-Maritimes, Charles-Ange Ginésy, indicated in a press release having sent a letter to the Minister of Health Olivier Véran, enjoining him "to initiate without waiting the screening of residents and staff by means serological tests " . He indicated that he had already requested systematic screening of residents at the ARS on March 24 and 26. "I was reminded of the procedure defined by your ministry, without, however, determined and preventive actions being undertaken (...) to halt the dramatic trajectory then emerging and which should deepen" , writes Charles-Ange Ginesy in his letter to the minister.
