Poing - Oh man, it's your birthday and because of Corona you can't really celebrate with hugging, dancing, playing, eating cake and so on. That's how many children are doing these days, including eight-year-old Antonia from Poing. She will be nine years old on Wednesday, April 8th, but celebrations are currently not possible due to exit restrictions. Not even with the best friend who lives a few blocks away. "Like many other children at the time, she is unhappy that she is not allowed to celebrate with her friends and family," says Antonia's mom Steffi Kisters.

Poing: birthday mailbox in front of the house

Nevertheless, she and her husband Thorsten want to give the daughter a nice day - with this idea: A mailbox is set up in front of the house, in which friends, but also anyone who is interested, can throw in a letter or a self-painted picture while walking can. Steffi Kisters, who works in the midday care of the Poinger Karl Sittler elementary school, has made a letter box with a piece of paper that says: "Antonia's Birthday Post".

Everyone is invited to participate

From Saturday, April 4th, the post box will be in front of the apartment at Gebrüder-Asam-Strasse 5 (between Hotel Poinger Hof and Pfarrheim Rupert Mayer), the post office may only open to Antonia on her birthday. "Who of you would like to give her a huge pleasure with a letter, postcard, etc.?" Mama Steffi Kisters wrote on it. And: "If you don't know her, don't do anything! She will be sooo happy. "

Antonia is already doing that, anticipation: "I'm also a little excited," says the eight-year-old. When asked what her biggest birthday wish is, she answers without hesitation: "That I can celebrate with family and friends." Her mother promises that this will be done as soon as possible or allowed.

Also nice: two brothers collect stones, paint them and put them out again.
