Attenkirchen - "Light overcomes the darkness." With this Easter-appropriate attitude, Martin Bormann is now evaluating what happened on March 15: Bormann was voted out of Mayor of Attenkirchen after six years. And even though there is a lot to report about how he was "shot at", he now "does not want to rummage in the dirt", said the 58-year-old in an interview with our newspaper.

Bormann, who had conquered the executive chair in the town hall in 2014 for the Bürgerernahe Gruppe (BG), emphasized that he had done a good job and hadn't "screwed up" anything. Unfortunately, however, he was not always able to enforce “politics for the citizens” as he had imagined. Too often, the Independent Voters' Community (UWG) worked against it. Example: the Weihersdorfer Feld construction area, which he had wanted to realize for six years, but which had been torpedoed for six years. It is also significant that the UWG has "scolded" for six years but then did not have its own candidate for the 2020 election. WE and Mathias Kern have now reaped the laurels of this policy and that three groups fought against him personally in the election campaign.

"Backside" and "sneaky"

A lot of things that were "below the belt line" had gone there, says Bormann - defamatory leaflets, for example. Nevertheless, he did not want to swing around now, that was not his style. In 2014 he started with the goal of “filling the trenches”. Now, six years later, he had to see that it hadn't succeeded. He was a person with whom everyone could talk reasonably and openly, but "this eternal cleanse", a "backside" and "sneaky", he couldn't have that.

The fact that he "suffered a clear defeat" on March 15 was something he had to bite at first. In the meantime, however, he has processed this and is even relieved to be able to spare his nerves in the future. Bormann emphasizes that given the circumstances, it is only too natural that he will not take up his mandate as a councilor.

Transfer of the mandate "only fair"

Stefan Wurzer is also one who does not exercise his municipal council mandate for the group close to the citizens. He would have defended his seat in the local council, but waived. As the 48-year-old emphasizes, it has "nothing" to do with the fact that Mathias Kern was chosen as a WIR mayor. Wurzer did not want to accept his mandate because around a week before the election, his “personal parameters” had shifted so much that he could no longer fulfill his function as a municipal council.

In view of these circumstances, it was "only fair" to leave your seat to someone who had the necessary time: Christine Krojer (48) is the name of the candidate for the community that is now moving up for Stefan Wurzer.
