Many want to buy food from local producers. But driving from farm shop to farm shop makes little sense. An online ordering platform is now starting under the name Amaregio.
Gmund - regional food direct from the producer. Many people want that. And there is a lot to do in the Miesbach district. In many places, farmers have set up farm shops selling meat, eggs, cheese, jams or other goods. But not everyone has the time or the opportunity to drive from farm to farm. In addition to the opening times of the shops, harvest and slaughter dates must also be observed. In addition, driving is difficult to reconcile with the basic ecological idea. All in all too complicated, Leonhard Brader from Fischbachau and Kilian Häusler from Bayrischzell thought and tinkered with an online ordering platform.

The idea: The customer browses online for the current offer and orders what he wants, pays in advance and picks up his package at a central point. Brader and Häusler already presented their concept under the name "Amaregio" at the "Invest in Bio and Regio" conference of the eco-model region Miesbacher Oberland in the Waitzinger Keller in Miesbach. Now a partner has been found to put these food packages together: the luxury market makes sense in Gmund. And so the project started under the name Amaregio.
"We have included everything we have in the shop in the online shop," says Andrea Brenner, who, together with Bernhard Wolf, has been operating the market with bistro and show kitchen in Tegernseer Straße since July 2018. The offer of the new online ordering platform - available online at machtsinn.amaregio.de - ranges from fruit and vegetables to meat and sausage, flour, pasta, eggs, cheese and milk to spices, chocolate and schnapps. If you want to order, place the goods online in your shopping basket, pay via PayPal and can either collect the package from the market or have it currently delivered - under certain conditions, which are explained in more detail on the homepage.

It was not foreseeable that the starting shot for Amaregio would come in such a difficult time. Because it was planned for a long time for this day, says Stepanie Stiller, manager of the Miesbacher Oberland eco-model region, who supports the project. But now the shop can "certainly also serve those who do not want to stay in the shop for long."
Brenner also sees the new offer as an opportunity to help producers in the region. "Many have delivered to the hospitality industry, and now these big customers are breaking away," she says. The products of many of these producers are available from Amaregio. In this way, consumers can now help producers quickly. "We are also currently looking around to see who needs support," says Brenner. That is why there are currently even flowers and lettuce plants from local gardeners to buy.
Independent of Corona, the pilot project is intended to test whether an online shop with pick-up options is accepted, says co-initiator Häusler. "If the idea reaches the consumer, this shopping option can also be set up for direct marketers and other issuing offices in the medium term." Organizing delivery of the parcels in the district is also an option.
