Berlin (dpa) - In view of the procurement problems with protective clothing and medicines, the Green Federal Minister of Economics Peter Altmaier (CDU) accuse of serious negligence in the Corona crisis.
"Germany, in cooperation with our European neighbors, could quickly start a pandemic industry because so many companies have their guns on foot," said Green Party boss Annalena Baerbock of the German Press Agency. Baerbock said: "It is now a matter of joint efforts to create the conditions for steps out of the shutdown." Production capacities for masks, ventilators and protective clothing are needed. "The Ministry of Economy and Health should work together with the federal states to ensure more production capacity and coordinated procurement in a task force."
Federal Minister of Health Jens Spahn (CDU) announced on Friday that it wanted to build a domestic production of protective masks.
