Last update date: 2020-04-05 23:46This year marks the thirtieth anniversary of the promulgation of the Basic Law. The Information Department of the Government uploaded a short film today (5th) about the process from the formulation of the Basic Law to its promulgation, and visited the Chief Executive Lin Zhengyue, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, and the former Basic Law Drafting Committee member Tan Yaozong Fan Xu Litai, former member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and former chairman of the Legislative Council, expressed their views on the Basic Law.
The chief executive of the film, Lin Zhengyue, praised the contribution of the Basic Law to Hong Kong, saying that since the return to China in the past 22 years, "no one disagrees on the whole, and Hong Kong has maintained stability." At the same time, it refers to the economic ups and downs of Hong Kong in the past 22 years, but in the end, it can be spent safely, indicating that the "Basic Law" system "works" and can also make Hong Kong people have a good life, and hope that every Hong Kong citizen Cherish the Basic Law.

Tan Yaozong mentioned that some people only emphasize the two systems when talking about one country, two systems. "I feel that we need absolute autonomy now, and everything is decided by ourselves." He thinks this will not work because the Basic Law has already written it very clearly. Regarding the question of whether "one country, two systems" needs to be changed after 2047, he pointed out that if one country, two systems are stable and running smoothly, "why is it good for the country and Hong Kong?"
Fan Xu Litai pointed out that he hopes that Hong Kong people cherish freedom while respecting the freedom of others. If freedom is destroyed, it will be lost, and everyone under the Basic Law has freedom.
