The French Ministry of Health today announced 357 new deaths from the Corona virus in the past 24 hours.
The ministry's data showed, according to Agence France Presse, that 357 people died of a pandemic (19 coved) in hospitals, compared to 441 the day before, bringing the total number of hospital deaths to 5,889.
The ministry said 2,189 people have died in homes for the elderly since March 1, taking the total deaths in France to 8,078.
And in South Africa, the arms industry group, Denil, has announced that it will design respirators to fight the emerging corona virus.
"The company's engineers in all its branches are working around the clock to develop respirators, and the target of its production in the company's plan will have no limits," the company’s CEO said in a statement.
He added: "We are at an early stage of the project and we hope that the initiative will reduce the urgent need for the ventilators that both private and public hospitals need."
The number of people infected with the new Corona virus in South Africa reached 1585, while 9 deaths have been recorded so far.
