An earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale struck this morning, Aqaba, in the south of Jordan, without any loss of life or property.
The Jordanian Petra Agency quoted the head of the Jordanian Seismological Observatory, Mahmoud Al-Qaryouti, as saying in a press statement that the tremor occurred 60 kilometers south of the city, at a depth of eight kilometers.
The city's residents felt the tremor, and some took to the streets for fear of aftershocks.
And witnessing different regions of Jordan, especially the southern regions, seismic activity due to its occurrence in the crushing hole on the Syrian-African fissure.
