Cleaning and sterilization campaigns continue in Damascus and Aleppo

Cleaning and sterilization campaigns continue in the neighborhoods and streets of the cities of Damascus and Aleppo, in addition to washing garbage containers, as part of precautionary measures to tackle the new Corona virus.

In a statement to SANA, the Director of Hygiene in Damascus Governorate, Engineer Emad Al-Ali, stated that the directorate's workshops continue with daily cleaning, rinsing and sterilization activities in the morning and evening through tanks and hand pumps, which today included the Hamidiyeh market and its branches, the Umayyad Mosque Square, the Citadel Road, the vicinity of Al-Amin oven and a number of lanes in Old Damascus and the vicinity Ibn Asaker complex, schools for the children of the martyrs and the Traffic Branch building.

Al-Ali pointed out that the workshops surrounding the kilns of Ibn al-Ameed, Shamdin Square, a number of streets and lanes in Rukn al-Din, Charcoal, canals, and foot, and the surrounding of the automatic oven were cleaned in solidarity and generosity in Mazzeh, the Umayyad Square, the Abbasid Garage, the Faris Khoury pedestrian tunnel, the tunnels at the Aisha River and the airport road.

In Aleppo, the city council continues to carry out cleaning and sterilization campaigns in the directorates and service sectors in the city, where the Sulaymaniyah Services Directorate implemented this evening a cleaning and sterilization campaign that included the Sulaymaniyah and Aziziyah neighborhoods, the Baghdad station, the Ouja al-Jub axis and the Tishreen bridge.

Engineer Maher Ibrahim, director of Sulaimaniyah services, told a SANA reporter that the campaign included washing streets, migrating and sterilizing garbage containers, and sterilizing service facilities using water tanks and hygiene mechanisms, in addition to using manual sprinklers, as city council cadres and workers made double efforts within the precautionary measures to tackle the Corona virus.

The service sectors of Al-Jadeeda, Al-Ansari, Al-Surian, and the City Center implemented hygiene and sterilization campaigns this morning that included the main axes and streets in those neighborhoods, in addition to distributing awareness leaflets to address the Corona virus and the need to adhere to homes during the current period and to maintain hygiene.
