Women turn to men for help, older people fear: Thousands of calls have been received since the opening of the Natal Public Aid Line to deal with anxiety due to the outbreak of the Corona epidemic.

About two weeks ago, the Natal Association (National Trauma Victims) announced that it is opening its helpline (which deals with national post-trauma background inquiries) to the general public to help those suffering from anxiety due to the outbreak of the Corona epidemic.

Since then, there have been about 6,000 calls. The average number of new calls received at the hotline is about 300 calls a day. The IDF notes that there seems to be a connection between the guidelines being exacerbated and reports of stress and anxiety, since with the closure of the closure the number of referrals has doubled.

Another record in the inquiries was recorded after the report of the first deceased in Israel and reports of infections and deaths in nursing homes. Then there was an increase in the number of referrals among the elderly. So far: 40% of callers are 70 and older, with conversations mostly about their loneliness and helplessness. 35% of those aged 60-45 reported that they were anxious for their family or parents. Twenty-five percent of applicants were aged 45 and under, most often parents who fear their young children.

According to the data, most referrals came from women (62%), while 38% came from men. The peak hours for helpline referrals are 8pm to 4pm. 83% of daily referrals are received at the helpline during these hours, where early news releases begin on the main channels.

Natal has dozens of volunteers helping post-traumatic individuals due to national events (wars, attacks, conflict line zones). Two weeks ago, the relief line opened to all those suffering from distress and anxiety due to the spread of the corona virus. Also inquiries against the background of national trauma.

Orly Gal, CEO of Natal: "We are in the midst of a conscious war, and are required to change lifestyles and adapt to a complex mental state that the mind sometimes fails to cope with. Therefore, we encourage those in need of support and mental assistance to contact us." It should be noted that the hotline operates every 24/7 and calls 1-800-363-363
