Coronavirus: first drop in hospitalizations in the Grand Est

For the first time, hospitalizations of patients infected with coronavirus in the Grand Est have dropped slightly, with authorities calling for continued compliance with containment and barrier measures.

According to the latest assessment from the Regional Health Agency (ARS) and the prefecture of Grand Est, one of the regions most affected by the epidemic, 4,702 Covid-19 patients were hospitalized on Saturday in establishments in the region , against 4712 in the previous count on Friday, a very slight decline in 10 patients.

According to the charts for monitoring the number of hospitalizations offered by Santé Publique France, the official public health agency, this is the first drop in the Grand Est, whereas until now the number of hospitalized patients has not stopped to climb.

On the other hand, the number of deaths in the region since the start of the epidemic continues to increase: 1,402, compared to 1,311 in the previous assessment.

" Over the past three days, there has been an increase in outpatient resuscitation to conventional hospital services, around 30 a day versus 10-15 the previous days, " added the ARS and the prefecture in their press release.

A slight decrease confirmed by the number of patients still in intensive care: 960 patients according to Sunday's assessment, against 971 for the previous day. Transfers of 12 patients this weekend to Toulouse and Germany have notably contributed to this decrease, according to the press release. " As of April 4 ", 305 patients from the Grand Est were transported to other regions of France or neighboring countries (Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg ...), according to the same source.

" To hope to maintain this trend (...), it is absolutely necessary to continue to observe respect for containment and barrier measures ", insist in their press release the ARS and the prefecture.
