Milky Way protest, 2.0

It was only a matter of time before the voluntary expatriate community of Israelis in Berlin and Germany's PR agents in the Israeli media joined forces in a renewed campaign of Israel's public consciousness in the shadow of the Corona crisis. It began with a slight trickle of messages about Israel being a "hysterical state" Then the rather rapid isolation and closure measures taken by the authorities in Israel, and then when it became clear that even "liberal, democratic and open-minded" Germany had to take similar steps - but belatedly endangered the lives of hundreds, if not thousands - the propaganda floppy disk was replaced with new messages: "The best German health system in the world. "The Germans knew how to prepare themselves," the German government said Of course, everything goes against Israel, where "the health system is collapsing and dysfunctional," "the failure to prepare for health," and, of course, "the government is abandoning the self-employed."

And so Germany, again - not necessarily voluntarily - becomes an instrument of internal Israeli political rigor, as happened in the days of social protest, the one that gave rise to the "Milky Way protest". Media people, who are not fully aware of the situation in Germany, create an ideal and virtual reality, with the help of Israeli immigrants who are desperate to justify their choice to live in Germany - where many do not make a significant contribution to the environment (as opposed to Israeli immigrant communities elsewhere) - glorify Germany's name. These efforts to curtail their country of emigration become embarrassing, glorifying their dependence on the generous German welfare system. They, who choose the most anti-Semitic cliches to describe the "ultra-Orthodox" culture in Israel, live on their own in Germany.

There are many reasons why the Corona epidemic has not so far hit its full strength in Germany, as has happened in other European countries. Circumstances wished Germany had more time to prepare to advance the epidemic. Despite this, the authorities and the population reacted slowly - and only then in "hysteria". To force the indigenous population to cooperate with the isolation and closure guidelines, they began to inflict dead and dead numbers, which are currently looking unfounded. Anyone who talks about the effectiveness of the German health system has never experienced their failures and inefficiencies, and has not heard much criticism from German doctors about the improper preparation of local health authorities.

Diabed, today the number of dead corona virus in Germany, relative to all infected, is higher than in Israel. Within two weeks the number of dead had risen from 28 to about 1,300. The number of infections in Germany is now the fourth in the world (more than their official number in China). To Germany's credit, it is said that the extensive scope of testing allows for early identification of patients and their treatment in a manner that facilitates recovery. Germany is also one of the leading countries in the field of health science research to find an immune response and cure for disease - such as Israel.

Where, then, does the obsessive impulse to turn Germany - with all our traumatic past related to it - into a point of reference and comparison in the established formula that life in Germany is honey and in Israel is only a sting? Lots of ignorance leads to this, but also post-exile and neo-exile to the world outside of our "ghetto", which is necessarily "more civilized and advanced." And the choice in Germany for the purpose of strengthening the argument is already due to a pure complex of self-hatred.
