"He didn't have the profile of what we thought were the victims of Covid-19 at all." This RATP agent is in shock. Like his colleagues, he has just learned of the death of Cyril Boulanger, 37, suffering from Covid-19, on Sunday morning at the Lille University Hospital (Nord).
Father of two little boys, veteran champion of France in judo, he was a supervisor within the Network Protection and Security Group (GPSR), based at the Gare de Lyon (Paris, 12th arrondissement) "In the name of the whole RATP Group, the general management expresses its greatest sadness after the announcement this morning of the death of a supervisor of the safety department, of complications linked to the Covid-19 virus, indicates the Régie. All our thoughts go out to his family and loved ones to whom we send our sincere condolences, but also to his colleagues. ”
A psychological assistance unit has been set up in the teams of the RATP safety department. A minute of silence will be observed Monday at 11 am by agents of the Régie.
A highly appreciated colleague
Since last week, Cyril Boulanger had been hospitalized at the Lille University Hospital in a very serious condition. "Cyril leaves a unanimous memory of his involvement and his professional conscience within the GSPR, testifies the safety department in a message. Former gendarme, he joined the GPSR in 2005, to access in July 2017 the post of operational supervisor. His background in different attachments of the department confirmed his constant and exemplary professionalism. We all remember him as a very endearing and deeply human person. ”
⚰️ Rest in peace Cyril, we are very sad and furious to lose our friend and colleague GPSR whom we particularly loved😭 # COVID19 pic.twitter.com/Xa75YKRu05
- SUD-RATP ®️😷 (@SudRatp) April 5, 2020Cyril Boulanger was a member of the SUD-RATP union. "He was one of those who requested closure measures when a cluster of Covid-19 was reported on March 14 within the National Police Railroad Brigade Brigade (BRF) with whom the GPSR shares premises at the Gare de Lyon, ”recalls a member of the SUD union.
Since the start of the health crisis, RATP unions have been asking for more masks for teams in direct contact with the public. “We have only been allowed to wear the mask systematically since last Thursday. We are fifteen days late, ”laments a colleague of Cyril Boulanger.
