Contact ban because of Corona - "Let´s Dance" continues to dance closely. Professional dancer Christian Polanc dropped out on the fifth show - due to corona symptoms, as has now become known.

  • The popular dance show "Let's Dance" * adapts its measures to the corona pandemic .
  • That is not enough for some professional dancers .
  • Someone is now calling anonymously - and above all is afraid.

Update from April 6, 2020: In the fifth "Let's Dance" episode, Laura Müller * (19) had to do without her professional dancer Christian Polanc . The 41-year-old dropped out due to illness , RTL did not provide further details. At this point, there was already speculation about a possible coronavirus infection (see our report below).

Christian Polanc now explained the reason for his exposure to RTL: The professional dancer actually had symptoms that indicated the corona virus. In order to protect his dance partner Laura Müller and the entire crew from infection, he immediately went into quarantine and did a corona test. "As it turned out, I was negative," said Christian Polanc in the "Let's Dance" podcast. Instead, an allergic reaction was the reason for his symptoms.

"Let's dance": professionals challenge Coronavirus - first dancers are missing

Update from March 27th, 2020, 8:19 pm : Although the new episode "Let's Dance" started as usual with a brilliant opening dance by Kathrin Menzinger and Andrzej Cibis and thunderous playback applause, the pressure on those responsible seems to be increasing. After some dance professionals are said to have already asked for “Let's Dance” to be withdrawn ( see below ) for security reasons in times of the corona crisis, more and more fans of the show are following suit. The social media channels of the RTL dance show are now mostly full of angry user voices instead of expressing the anticipation of the audience.

Critical viewer voices due to the continuation of "Let's Dance"

Because even if the broadcaster actually wants to arouse the interest of the audience and advertises the 90s special of the next edition in a good mood, hardly anyone is responding to it anymore. Some viewers still state that they think it is great that he will continue with the program and are happy about the little "little distraction", but most of them, however, are of opposite opinion. So people are already writing that it makes them "rather depressed", that the shows have to take place in deserted studios. They thought it would be better if the show would not be broadcast for the time being.

"Let's Dance" (RTL): viewers find continuation of the show "irresponsible"

RTL act against every precaution, criticize the users and find it not only "irresponsible", but also "a cheek that they are allowed to do it." Another goes on Twitter even so far and berates those responsible as "murderers" to whom they could become if they continued to do everything for the quota. Other viewers express their concerns a little more hesitantly, but also think that to protect everyone, it makes more sense to stop the show and continue at another time. "We still watch. I promise! ”Continues.

Dear @RTLde, we all love #letsdance, but if there is any danger to the crew, dancers, jury, celebrities, take a break. We're still watching afterwards. Promised!

Christian Polanc is absent from “Let's Dance” due to illness

Today, the show is still going as planned, but the moderators emphasize again how much they care about the health of their "Let's Dance Family", which is why they naturally wanted to comply with all hygiene and safety regulations. However, the first dancers are already missing: John Kelly had already announced his exit during the week. Unfortunately, Daniel Polwich and Victoria Swarovski have also said that Christian Polanc cannot participate due to illness. What the dance professional is suffering from and whether the whole thing could possibly have something to do with the corona discussion has not yet been revealed. Nevertheless, it remains to be seen whether or when RTL will have to bow to the critical voices.

The ProSieben show "The Masked Singer" had to be interrupted because of two corona cases.

"Let's dance" (RTL) despite Corona: Participants anonymously request that the program be dropped off

First report from 03/27/2020, 11:14 a.m .:

Cologne - The whole country adheres to exit restrictions and a ban on contact because of Corona : Only with "Let's dance" * will you continue to dance closely to each other. The professional dancers and stars come into contact with the skin not only when dancing. The first anonymous outcries from the ranks of the dancers are now calling for the show to be closed - and at the same time are afraid of one thing .

"Let's dance" (RTL): Dancer demands anonymous end because of Corona - and is afraid of one thing

It is not only when dancing that professional dancers and stars * face the dangers of the spread of corona . “The hairdressers and makeup artists sometimes have no gloves on, but they treat many with the same brushes. We are driven in shuttles with up to eight people to the studio for the live show. A dancer is even sick and has corona symptoms. But she was told by the production department that she shouldn't take the test, ”says a dancer from the picture and does not want to be named. There is one main reason for this: he is afraid of losing his job in the successful dance show. If he now voluntarily got out, he might not be booked by the broadcaster anymore.

Cancellation of "Let's dance" because of Corona? Now RTL speaks

The broadcaster RTL rejects all allegations and presents the situation to Express completely differently. Upon request, it says that all hairdressers and makeup artists would wear gloves and face masks. The broadcaster even let the stars and dancers decide whether they want to put on make-up: "The mask and styling are voluntary, the stars can also put on their own make-up and put on and take off clothes," says RTL's statement. The direct request for an exit from one of the professional dancers had not yet been expressed. If this should happen, "we would respect such wishes and find a solution together".

But fans don't just complain about that. Even some exits seem “unfair”, such as that of Ulrike von der Groeben *.

Meanwhile, "Let's Dance" juror unpacked about his youth in the Ruhrpott.
