There was a massive outbreak of the corona virus in the Alten-Eben center in Gudensberg in the Schwalm-Eder district (Northern Hesse) : So far, 26 of the 152 residents and 40 of the 100 nurses have been demonstrably infected with the virus. Two residents died on the weekend.
It is an 81-year-old and a 79-year-old who both had severe previous illnesses and in whom the coronavirus was also found. Three other residents of the Eben-Ezer retirement center are in hospital with more severe courses - all other patients show mild to moderate courses.

The core personnel infected with the coronavirus would be in isolation for at least another week. "They are only allowed to work again if they have been tested symptom-free and tested negative for the virus twice," explains Berle. Everyone's safety comes first.

“The virus is merciless. It hurts tremendously that you can't help as you want. We started to offer a life with dignity and security, ”said Berle moved. No one is to blame, he says. But better equipment of the old people's homes with protective clothing and earlier testing of the suspects might have prevented worse things.
