This is a 5,000 billion question: who will pay the dumpsters of money dumped around the world to put out the coronavirus fire? The subject may seem down to earth at a time when the economy is collapsing everywhere and the whole planet is activating to save what can be saved. In France as elsewhere, the fire department spends countless times to avoid chain bankruptcies and the destruction of millions of jobs. From right to left, no one disputes this unprecedented deployment of resources: to the health crisis and the economic crisis, no need to add a social crisis and, finally, a political crisis.

The time of the save-who-can behind us, will come all the same the hour of the accounts. Because, to rescue businesses, traders and employees in difficulty, our impecunious state has no choice but to go into debt in proportions never seen before. The French, alas, will probably pay little attention to it. No government has presented a balanced budget
