A Valdoie nursing home in Territoire-de-Belfort, where 17 people died from Covid-19, was placed on Monday under provisional administration by the ARS and the departmental council.

A provisional administration was decided " for two months renewable " to " allow the establishment to find stable management in this period of crisis related to the coronavirus, " said the departmental council in a statement.
17 of the 115 residents of Ehpad La Rosemontoise, managed in Valdoie by the association Servir, died of Covid-19 and about twenty other residents show symptoms of the disease, the chairman of the council told AFP Departmental of the Territoire-de-Belfort, Florian Bouquet.

Management difficulties
State services controls in early March revealed dysfunctions in the implementation of " pandemic protection measures " within this establishment, the department said.
" It is an Ehpad which worries us for some time ", the association Servir which manages it " knows difficulties, in particular in the framing and management ", notes Florian Bouquet. According to him, these difficulties were already present before the arrival of the health crisis. With this " exceptional procedure " of placement under provisional administration, he wishes to " secure the daily lives of staff and residents and thereby calm families ."
In a video posted on social networks on Saturday, the acting mayor of Valdoie, Corinne Coudereau, expressed her " anger ", while " men and women die every day in the silence and indifference of the public services in charge of their protection ”. She criticized the absence of tests, questioning the non-hospitalization of patients.
