Coronavirus: Boris Johnson admitted to intensive care

Foreign Minister Dominic Raab has been appointed to act as head of government.


Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who tested positive for the new coronavirus ten days ago, was transferred to intensive care Monday after his hospitalization in central London, his spokesman said.

"During the afternoon, the Prime Minister's state of health deteriorated and, on the advice of his medical team, he was transferred to the intensive care unit of the hospital," said the spokesperson. "The Prime Minister has asked Foreign Minister Dominic Raab (...) to replace him where necessary," he added in a statement.
