In order to raise awareness and transfer the latest knowledge, the Faculty of Medicine at Damascus University has issued guides to address the emerging corona virus in terms of prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

These guides include Chinese and international experience in managing and preventing the disease and to be a weapon in the hands of medical service providers and an added value to the Arab Medical Library, as Dr. Marwan Al-Halabi, Deputy Dean of the College of Medicine for Scientific Affairs and supervisor of the preparation of evidence, who explained in a statement to SANA today that the evidence was translated and prepared from A group of graduate doctors and medical school students accepted to convey the latest developments in the successful clinical knowledge and experience in managing this disease and to limit it to medical teams in Syria and the Arab countries, the cost of lives.

According to Dr. Al-Halabi, these guides include six groups, including what is comprehensive awareness directed to the community, and some that are directed to doctors working in hospitals, one of which documents the clinical experience of the first hospital of the College of Medicine at the University of Zhejiang, China, which was adopted in most countries of the world as a guide in dealing with this disease and translated To most languages ​​of the world, as well as other specialist guides for gynecologists, others that include advice for pregnant women, and a guide for quick action to tackle the epidemic.

Dr. Al-Halabi pointed out that a section of these guides was printed on paper by the World Health Organization and distributed to doctors in hospitals as guidelines. It was also downloaded electronically to medical and social sites to be available to all who wish, indicating that the college is also currently conducting studies to investigate the behavior of medical college students and resident doctors. In hospitals and their willingness to deal with this pandemic and potential patients, which makes a big difference in the results of managing this global pandemic, as well as other studies to survey the public’s awareness of this pandemic.

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research confirmed taking all necessary measures and providing the utmost protection and prevention in university hospitals to address the Corona virus and forming a central joint team between hospitals and the College of Medicine to follow up and allocate special rooms in each hospital in order to deal with suspected cases and coordinate with the Ministry of Health in this field.
