British Foreign Minister Dominic Raab pledged on Monday to act to "defeat the coronavirus" after being appointed to replace Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who had Covid-19 and was transferred to intensive care.

"The government will give its full attention to ensuring that the Prime Minister's instructions, and the measures planned to defeat the coronavirus and allow the whole country to overcome this challenge, are followed up on , " said Dominic Raab on the BBC, assuring that the head of government were "in good hands" at St Thomas hospital.
