Urgent construction projects this year as well: that's 2020 in Wang

Mayor Hans Eichinger actually wanted to file his last report to the citizens of Wanger. Because of the Corona crisis, the whole thing was moved to the Internet.

Wang - Outgoing parish leader Hans Eichinger had been looking forward to giving his accountability report to the citizens of Wang parish one last time. Because of the corona pandemic, the appointment was of course not possible, and so the mayor is now posting his report on the Internet.

Residents

At the end of February, the Wang community had 2606 residents with main and secondary residences. 206 new arrivals were opposed to 261 departures. Among them are 251 foreigners from 43 countries in the international community. The largest groups of asylum seekers come from Afghanistan (30), Nigeria (13) and Eritrea (12).

Finances

Mayor Eichinger is quite satisfied with the trade tax revenue, which is consistently over one million euros. 2016 was the record year in Wanger with 1.76 million euros and this year the budget is 1.35 million euros. Like all other municipalities, Wang must be surprised at the financial impact the corona crisis will have on the local economy.

Debts

This year the municipality is expected to take out loans of 1.5 million euros and expect a debt of 3.7 million euros at the end of 2020. There are good reasons for Eichinger to increase liabilities. The most important measures are the renewal of the Bergen thoroughfare with two million euros and the Sixthaselbach-Nord construction area with around one million euros. Eichinger points out that the expenditure would be refinanced. When Bergen passes through the town, the wastewater charges will compensate for it over the next 20 years, and in Sixthaselbach the outgoing town hall manager expects a surplus of two million euros "even at humane prices".

Construction projects

There was a lot to celebrate in the different districts last year because the infrastructure of the community was significantly expanded. So the football club FC Wang got its own sports home. The Volkmannsdorferau fire department was also able to hand over the long-awaited fire station with its church consecration and a large festival. Eichinger is pleased that the various district fire brigades have the framework to be able to help the population in an emergency.

Ligeder mountain

Nothing happened for two years after Ligeder Berg was closed due to the unstable slope. Cars could only drive downhill towards Bruckberg or Volkmannsdorferau. The uphill alternative, however, turned out to be a moderately difficult adventure. Here the mayor sees an improvement after a visit from the petition committee of the Bavarian state parliament. One result is the ability to drive in both directions with a traffic light at the narrowest point. Eichinger demands an improvement from the state building office for precisely this trailing curve. The traffic light solution works very well.

traffic

In November 2019, Wang joined the Zweckverband Kommunale Verkehrsüberwachung Südostbayern - and since then it has been a mess. In the first three months of 2020 alone, there were 152 fines for driving too fast.

Bike paths

The Wang community is very active on several fronts. According to city council chief Eichinger, the state building office has had a detailed plan for the cycle path from Zieglberg to Moosburg along the state road for four years. The first part of the area between the Amper Bridge and the Landl junction is now taken over by the municipality in a special construction load. On the bike path from Volkmannsdorf towards Edlkofen (part of the municipality of Bruckberg), the section "Stöber / Mühlbachstraße" is on.

Hans Eichinger is a little more concerned about the much-needed cycle path from the restaurant with beer garden in Isareck towards Wang. There are ideas for this, but the property negotiations were difficult.
