You can't fly to Greece or at all, but you can order Greek food from Greco and imagine that we were in a tavern in Thessaloniki • Did we work for us?

If there's anything we Israelis really like, it's Greece. Fine Mediterranean cuisine, spectacular views, rich culture, taverns in every corner and lots and lots of joy and if possible, then a glass of ouzo aside. Now that you've imagined and smiled, put it all aside because there is none. However, Greek food still remains because Greece does not have to fly for it, so we ordered a shipment from Greco to see if we can imagine that we are in a tavern and not in an apartment in southern Tel Aviv.

Apparently there is no Greek culinary lover in the country who does not know Greco Restaurant, which has two branches in the Chen areas in Tel Aviv and Herzliya Pituach. The owner Zvicki Eshet and chef Eliav Goldenberg offer the whole package: both traditional and fine Greek food and the most delightful design and atmosphere that will make you feel like you In a real Greek tavern.

For a change, we felt like opening a table this time, just at home, and when we say we felt like opening a table at home we mean we had no power to cook and we were looking for a sense of home food, some home of someone living in Piraeus or Athens.

We went for a variety of cold and hot dishes that we could easily share: For the first time, we ordered the traditional czicis (cucumber yogurt, garlic and dill) and cordelia (garlic spread, almonds and olive oil), 2 dishes that blended well with grilled pita on olive oil, which came warm and crispy.

We proceeded with a pillow salad (a variety of fresh vegetables with fried facsimile bread and grated feta) which was like a regular, plentiful and satisfying Greek salad. The fried bread was great and added to the dish.

The main dishes were the highlight. They were kept warm and were deliciously delicious: mousse (veal, potato, eggplant, tomato, zucchini and bacon sauce) that disappeared from the plate as fast as it was put on it and fish patties (tomato sauce with fish, onion, chickpea, coriander and chilli) that we didn't want to finish , Though I don't know so much what Greek is about, but it's not terrible if they feel Greek about who we are to judge.

To finish, we had dessert in the kimaki ice cream - goat yogurt ice cream with raspberry syrup and roasted almonds. At first, we had to get used to the sour and different taste, but after that we got over pretty quickly and finished a wonderful and satisfying meal with a great Greek dessert.

The dishes on the menu are not cheap (NIS 36-58 for the cold dishes, NIS 34-124 for the hot dishes, of all sizes), but they are large and satisfying. So a trip to Greece will not be soon, but this meal can provide you with a short and very tasty escape.
