Freising - Four places lost in the district council, not voted in Neufahrn and Moosburg, only fourth strongest in the city of Freising and downed with the OB candidate: The CSU did not fare very well in the municipal elections in the district. And even though district chairman Florian Herrmann sees “light and shadow” as with every election, the shadow also predominates with him.

"An unacceptable result"

Above all, the result in the city of Freising is "an unacceptable event" for the minister. He had expected that the CSU would suffer losses in the election of the district council: on the one hand, there was an additional party with the AfD, and on the other, there was "a hype" about the Greens. Unfortunately, this situation had "high performers" like Andreas Adldinger and Rudolf Heinz fall victim to the district council.

That Manuel Mück only lost to Helmut Petz in the runoff election is "a respectable result" for Herrmann. In times of crisis, the majority of voters would have trusted the "older" and "more experienced", according to a first analysis by the screech chief. In any case, Mück had conducted a “sympathetic election campaign” and was “a man for the future”.

Herrmann strikes a completely different note when he looks at the result in the city of Freising: only 10.8 percent for the party and only 4.6 percent for candidate Jürgen Mieskes - "very very sobering". That is "an unacceptable result", "absolutely unsatisfactory". Herrmann does not want to stand idly by: "You have to have serious discussions there" in order to get back to a green, or better: "come to a black branch" in the district town in the medium term.

Defeats also in Moosburg and Neufahrn

Herrmann very much regrets that Ozan Iyibas did not make the runoff in Neufahrn. Iyibas would have been a mayor with a future who had carried out an excellent and committed election campaign. Similarly in Moosburg: Georg Hadersdorfer did not make the leap into the runoff. Because the candidate field there was very narrow, it could have been different. Ultimately, Hadersdorfer, Josef Dollinger and Michael Stanglmaier, were the losers against two candidates who had been known and active in Moosburg local politics for decades.

Herrmann also sees success

But one should not forget the successes: He was pleased that Martin Ernst had finally made it into the executive chair in the town hall in Marzling, and that Harald Reents in Hallbergmoos defended his post without a runoff election, Herrmann said. Of course: According to the CSU district chairman, a detailed analysis of the results and reasons for the continued loss of the Christian Socialists are still pending.
