Last night (6th), a 51-year-old woman was injured and robbed of handbags by 5 gangs on the street, and 2 boys were arrested. It is understood that the two arrested were 13-year-old S1 students. Three men and women of similar age are still at large during the robbery.

A serial robbery took place in Tai Kok Tsui last year, and it was later determined that it was the gang. In the early morning of September 23, 24 and 26 last year, three robberies occurred in Dajiaozu Daquan Street and Fuquan Street. Three people were attacked and robbed by gangsters with wooden sticks. Two of them were beaten to the end and looted. The total value of property is about 30,000 yuan. After tracing, the police arrested 4 boys aged 13 to 16.

"Niu Maru Incident", Police "Operation of Treading Shadows" Strike against the Party

At the beginning of the "Niu Wan Incident" at the rooftop of Anding Village, Tuen Mun early this year, a 15-year-old girl was slapped with at least 32 slaps and 16-degree punches and kicks due to emotional disputes. The upload to the network caused an uproar. The police took action to arrest the 17-year-old girl and another 15-year-old girl of "Niu Maru" on suspicion of "attack causing bodily harm".

Later, "Bullball Incident 2.0" broke out. A 13-year-old boy was grappling with people in the basketball court of Anding Village. He was escorted by at least 10 children's parties to the "dark corner" of the rooftop of the mall. Stepping on the head and back madly, and even "spicy" his body with a burning cigarette butt.

A wide range of minor crimes are involved

In view of the rising trend of juvenile delinquency in the Tuen Mun area, the police launched an 8-day "Operation of the Shadow" last month. During the operation, 60 people were arrested, 40 of whom were 24 years old or younger, and 15 of them reported as students. They are suspected of causing actual physical harm (AOABH), theft, possession of offensive weapons, criminal damage, extortion, criminal intimidation, indecent assault, drug trafficking, possession of drugs, possession of tools for drug use and unlicensed alcohol sales.

In March this year, the police received a report that an 11-year-old girl had been punched, kicked, and horned in various places in Tai Po District, including a park near Tai Wo Village and the back staircase in an estate since February this year. The iron and wooden sticks were attacked, and even naked photos were taken in public toilets. They were then blackmailed and bullied for up to 1 month. After investigation, the police anti-triad group arrested 10 men and women, each of whom was only 10 to 14 years old.

City University criminal psychologist Li Dingji analyzes that the gang robbery is inseparable from "money", and the crime is caused by the influence of peers. He described the "sequelae of the pneumonia epidemic" as a problem of the gang. The restaurant closed down during the epidemic, and there were few opportunities for part-time jobs. Even the parents lost their jobs. As a result, the juveniles lost their financial resources, and the problem of juvenile delinquency was caused, but the government did not pay much attention to it. In addition, under the influence of peers, a small group was formed, with a fluke mentality, thinking that "it is easy to walk away" and commit crimes.

Regarding the police's recent emphasis on the advocacy of breaking the law in the past six months of social incidents, leading to a weak sense of law compliance among young people, Li Dingji believes that the social incident itself has a greater impact on the gang than the instability caused by the social incident. Under the epidemic situation, there are few opportunities for part-time jobs, the juveniles lose their legitimate income, and they are prone to earn income and maintain their living standards.
