New York state governor Andrew Kwamo announced Tuesday at a news conference that the daily death toll in the state has risen by 731 in the past day and now stands at 5,489 people.

At a press conference, the governor, who became one of the most well-known figures in his country in the context of the Corona epidemic, said that the number of dead from the epidemic is a non-indication of what is happening on the ground, claiming that the number of new hospitalizations due to the virus is declining. "In general, we seem to have reached the alignment of the curve," Kwamu said.

"What we have done so far has been to add beds in hospitals and increase the medical staff in McMouth where the burden has been the most difficult.

Kwamo added: "The disease kills vulnerable people. We can't stop it. I believe we have so far saved everyone who could be saved." Kwamu argued that the state administration plans to restart the state's economy and that it spoke to the governors of Connecticut and New Jersey to coordinate resumption of economic activity.

New York, along with California and Washington and Michigan, has become the focus of the Corona eruption in the United States and one of the largest eruption centers on the American continent. 377,605 people were infected with corona disease in the United States, 11,784 of whom died as a result of the virus, more than in China where the disease broke out.

The neighbor from the north, Canada, also reports today a large increase in the number of people infected and is currently 17,063. 345 people died in the country as a result of the virus.
