"Today, the imperative is to make containment work," replied the Prime Minister to a deputy who questioned him.

"Today is the time for containment and the time for containment will last," said the Prime Minister during the questions to government session in the National Assembly. He considered “very largely premature” any question on the conditions of the deconfinement.

The head of government responded to deputies as France enters its fourth week of confinement, set until April 15 for the moment to stem the epidemic of coronavirus.

"It is quite difficult for many French people to bear, I am perfectly aware of this, but it is essential if we do not want to find ourselves in a situation that would be worse than the one we know today" , he continued.

The imperative is that "containment works"

"Today, the imperative is to ensure that containment works, that the virus circulates slowly enough so that the number of severe cases which justify admission to intensive care units does not exceed global capacities of our hospital system, "he said in response to a question about the deconfinement of the deputy for Morbihan, Paul Molac.

" We prepare ourselves. Getting ready doesn't mean it's ready. It means preparing technically, scientifically, logistically, to be ready when the time comes, "said the Prime Minister.

As for the questions on deconfinemen t, "we will discuss the essential elements when the hypotheses on which we are working will be verified, the scenarios will be written".
