Christian Blatt manages the official affairs from home in the second week. He works in the home office. Forced. Because the Erdweger community chief has been infected with the corona virus.

Erdweg - It all started with a call from the health department. He was contact person 1 of an infected person and had to go into quarantine at home, it was said. The following day Christian Blatt was tested, and a day later the result came: He too is positive, so he got Covid 19 from the corona virus. The diagnosis did not shock him, but he had already given serious thought to it. "What you hear on TV and read everything about courses is not exactly helpful for the psyche."

He can at least imagine where he got infected. But the 36-year-old is a pragmatist. On the same day that he received the message from the health department, he packed files and all the important things and went to the home office. He had already started to rearrange the operations in the municipal administration on the day of school closings, with division into independent teams and shift work so that everyone was alone in the offices. "An authority must remain efficient," said Blatt. Added to this is the support of the second mayor, Otmar Parsche.

At home he continued to work as normal and waited for symptoms. Then they came on the last weekend in March: with a slight headache, later severe body aches, "as I know from colds". But without the cough typical of Covid 19 and without having lost the sense of taste or smell. In principle, he had only mild symptoms. But of course he was worried if it would get worse. "You don't really know this disease," said Blatt.

He has been symptom-free since last Tuesday, and he can leave home quarantine next Thursday and have "contact" with his wife and 20-month-old son again. “We had separate bedrooms and also had to eat separately. My study was my quarantine room, ”explains the Großberghofener. The whole family was not allowed to leave the house. Friends and neighbors bought: "Our neighborhood in Großberghofen works well."

It was difficult to keep his little son away from him. "He probably didn't understand that I was staying in the office for dinner and that he couldn't visit me," says Christian Blatt. The town hall manager resumes work on Thursday. The work on the planned Eisenhofen children's home also begins on that day. "That fits! After all, there is a lot to talk about. "

Christian Blatt's conclusion: “I am glad that I survived the illness with a very mild course. However, due to the rapid, incalculable spread, the large number of patients with sometimes difficult courses and the measures still necessary to contain them, I am not relaxed, even though I am now supposedly immune. ”
