The Corona virus is fought in two old people's homes in the Würmtal valley - Krailling and Planegg. They are located in different districts, the procedure is different.

Würmtal - 15 residents and twelve employees in Planegg have had positive tests since Wednesday. Almost all of the 106 results that were pending by Monday noon are now available. A resident who tested positive died on Monday. As with the first death, it was already dying. Dirk Spohd, managing director of the agency Aid to the Elderly, is nevertheless cautiously optimistic: "We seem to have uncovered it early and can contain it." However, he is critical of the test procedure. "It shouldn't be five to six days before we get results."

Not even a kilometer further, in the Caritas retirement home Maria Eich, the test results seem to come faster. They are already expected there today. In Krailling, 20 residents of the dementia ward are currently under quarantine. You are 80 years old and older. Spohd was relieved when it was announced yesterday that Kraillinger Dr. Richard Aulehner will now coordinate all further tests in Planegg. "There are now clear responsibilities." Previously, the health authority, home supervision and medical doctor were responsible for the nursing homes in the Munich district. His request that the testing of nursing homes should be organized centrally was answered. He also demands that old people's homes be given priority. It was "crazy" that he had to wait so long for the results. He does not understand why it was so difficult to organize series tests in the Munich district and not in Starnberg, Dachau and Munich. There is also little protective material in the Munich district. "We're running out of smocks." Protective equipment is also in short supply in the Caritas retirement home. Therefore "we regularly report our needs to the state authorities and at the same time we become active as Caritas", explains the managing director of Caritas retirement homes, Doris Schneider.
