Erding– The Disaster Management Leadership Group (FüGK) improves the care of Covid-19 patients and suspected cases at the level of resident doctors, but also the protection of doctors and staff in the practices.

Specialized practices are now planned to ensure that suspected cases can be investigated quickly and close to where they live. This is what the state-appointed medical doctor Dr. Thomas Bauer. At the same time, he says, he wants to protect colleagues who, due to their age, belong to the corona risk group. One of these practices is to be built in Erding, "if we really need it," Bauer told our newspaper. He and district administrator Martin Bayerstorfer introduce another as head of the crisis team in the eastern district.

"Much can be clarified on the phone"

According to Bauer, the previous processes have proven their worth. General and specialist practices can no longer be entered without prior notice. "Nevertheless, nobody has to be afraid of not having a contact person for symptoms," says Bauer. “A lot can be clarified on the phone. If there is any suspicion of Corona, we will let one of the screening agencies know so that the patient can be presented there. "If there are specific indications," either a doctor in private practice looks at it, or you can go directly to the Contact the emergency department at the clinic, ”says Bauer. There, people with clear symptoms had already been taken directly to the isolation station and the smears taken.

Bayerstorfer explains: "The key practices should be able to start operating as quickly as possible." We are talking about a few days. For the 53-year-old, it is imperative that "suspected cases know where to go".

Original idea: practices at screening sites not feasible

Bayerstorfer reports that the originally proposed solution, the establishment of standby practices at the three screening points in Erding (nursing school and FOS / BOS) and in Dorfen (high school), has been rejected for the time being. "Unfortunately, this could not be realized."

Bauer, whose main job is an ENT doctor with practices in Erding and Dorfen and experience as a Bundeswehr and water guard medical doctor working abroad, has taken on other important tasks. He is to organize all the necessary planning and measures to maintain basic medical care in the practices in the event of a disaster. "This also includes the coordination of help for practices whose operation is at risk due to sickness or even corona-related loss of personnel," said the district administrator.

"Land rice better equipped than many others"

At the moment, surgeries cannot be entered easily, but only after prior agreement. Patients who need follow-up prescriptions or a sick leave can order them by phone until the end of June and will then receive them.

At FüGK, Bauer will also coordinate the distribution of protective equipment. "The situation is good so far, we are lucky with our suppliers," Bayerstorfer and Bauer describe. They expect another 100,000 protective masks on Tuesday. The delivery to the homes is also taken into account. There are separate contingency plans for Corona cases there.

In itself, it is one of the tasks of the health care providers to set up screening offices and recruit staff. “It is no longer necessary in Erding. The rural rice is better equipped than many others, ”says Bauer. The medical director of the FüGK is responsible for securing the clinical care and the operation of the emergency clinic in the asylum waiting room. Andreas Donhauser, responsible.
