The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhnom Gebresus, called on US President Donald Trump not to use the spread of the new Corona virus for political purposes after threatening to cut the funding of the international organization despite the crisis of the Corona virus pandemic.
Gypressus said in a press conference carried by Reuters that he asked the US President "to unite at the national level without using the spread of Corona virus for political goals and fair solidarity on a global scale."
Gebresos stressed the necessity of not politicizing the pandemic of the new Corona virus, indicating that resources will not be a problem for the organization in the event of unity and solidarity.
He pointed out that Trump's criticism of the organization is not correct for siding with China, saying: "We are close to every people and do not distinguish between colors."
The US President had earlier charged a flood of accusations to the World Health Organization (WHO) over the emerging coronavirus pandemic, threatening to freeze US funding for it in an attempt to evade responsibility for default and failure to face the spread of the Corona epidemic in the United States.
