Following the request of the Justice Ministry's inter-ministerial coordinator to prevent juvenile delinquency, Attorney Michal Gold, and the Child Peace Council, the government today approved emergency regulations that include social workers, educational psychologists and youth promotion workers in the local authorities in its list of essential staff and staff.
The position of the inter-ministerial coordinator, which has been adopted by the government, was brought under urgent approach by the PM's inter-sectoral desk on children and adolescents at risk.
Recently, about half of these workers were placed on leave following work restrictions regulations. In order to ensure the good of children and youth at risk, and to reduce the number of injuries to children in their homes and end-youths in the streets, and to adequately respond to children and youth in need of support and assistance, regulations that define these workers as essential workers have been approved today.
The Children and Youth at Risk table is headed by the inter-ministerial coordinator for the prevention of juvenile delinquency in the Ministry of Justice, Attorney Michal Gold, as Government Representative, and Civil Society Representative - Director of the Child Peace Council, Adv. Vered Windman.
After it was brought to the table that the severe shortage of these workers was causing serious harm to the care and detection of children and youth at risk, the Subcommittee issued a request that was supported by the Minister of Welfare, Education and the Interior Minister and the amendment of the said regulations.
