Andreas Gabalier in Munich: The plans for the gigantic spectacle

The countdown to Andreas Gabalier's concert starts at 4 p.m .: The gates to the Volks-Rock'n'Roller show grounds in Munich-Riem open to all those who have purchased a ticket (at Eventim from EUR 51.99). Around 100,000 concertgoers are expected. The focus is on a stage up to 150 meters wide with the usual “Gabalier catwalk”. How it will look concrete is still being worked on. The area in front is divided into three standing areas, delimited by five grandstands, each of which can accommodate ten thousand concert visitors. With all gigantism, however, it is very important to ensure good sound quality in all seats, it said. After the concert, the "big grown fan family" will be allowed to continue celebrating on the festival site. It would then also be possible to gradually drain the flow of visitors.

Why did Andreas Gabalier choose Munich as his musician for his “kick-off into the new decade”? "I celebrated the greatest success in Bavaria," says the Austrian. Fans often traveled hundreds of kilometers to his concerts - Munich is a central point here, good for young people from Austria, Switzerland, the Benelux countries or the Netherlands. Here, so to speak, is the "epicenter of Volks'Rock'n'Rolls," joked Gabalier.

The festival is made possible by close cooperation with Messe Riem and the city of Munich. Monika Dech, head of the fair, is confident: "We have BAUMA with 620,000 visitors every three years and in 2006 we hosted Pope Benedict with a church service in front of 250,000 believers - we will also be holding the Gabalier Festival there."

If the whole thing works well, similar events would also be conceivable on the exhibition grounds in the future, says Clemens Baumgärtner, Munich's business consultant. Possibly even as an alternative area for the Olympic Stadium, which is to be renovated from autumn 2022.

The upcoming Xavier Naidoo concert in Munich heats people up. An alliance calls for a protest against the appearance.

Andreas Gabalier plans mega show in Munich

Statement of origin: The event is intended to be a celebration for the "large, grown fan family" and will take place during the summer holidays on August 15, 2020, as the self-proclaimed "Volks-Rock'n'-Roller" said on Monday in Munich.

There will be a supporting program from early to late - including an amusement park, a beer garden and a fan mile. Entry to the fan site should be free of charge. The highlight will then be an open air concert for at least 100,000 guests. The presale for this started on Monday.

Gabalier wondered what would be left after his successes in the past ten years. In 2019 he played a major stadium tour - including at the Munich Olympic Stadium and the Max Morlock Stadium in Nuremberg. Then he got the idea of the festival. "This will be the kick-off to the new decade."

The Austrian musician is currently taking a break from the media hype and spending time in the mountains. The musician said that he really needed this time out, even after he separated from his long-time girlfriend Silvia Schneider.

Munich: Gabalier in front of a large project - critics accuse him of that

Critics accuse the musician of right-wing populist, homophobic and misogynist tendencies. An album cover from 2011 shows Gabalier in a strange pose, for example, body bent over and arms and legs strangely twisted. A human swastika, some thought.

The video for the song "Hallihallo", which is faded from the deep cleavage of a woman to a plump cow udder - which Gabalier milks - is regarded as contemptuous of women. The Austrian distances himself from the accusations and describes the allegations as baseless.

Andreas Gabalier performed at the Olympic Stadium in June. In the case of the Munich team, however, a detail of the fans who traveled there caused an absolute shake of the head.

Interesting find in Munich: U-Bahn commuters were amazed by an unusual device that accompanied them on their journey.

A world star suddenly broke off his concert in Hamburg and said: "You get your damn money back". This sentence and the whole explanation did not satisfy everyone.
