Spain registered Wednesday April 22nd 435 deaths of the new coronavirus in 24 hours, a figure which increased slightly for the second consecutive day and which brings the total of deaths to 21,717, announced the ministry for Health.

The country, which has a total of more than 208,000 cases and is the third most bereaved in the world behind the United States and Italy, will extend its very strict confinement until Wednesday, May 9, inclusive. The government, which approaches deconfinement with extreme caution, will however slightly soften its measures by allowing the children to go out and get some fresh air from Sunday.
