Markets in a number of governorates are witnessing an active movement ahead of the holy month of Ramadan, amid an abundance of different materials and products to meet the needs of the family and fluctuation in prices, especially in goods that are in great demand during the holy month.

In Homs, Samer Al-Rifai pointed to the high prices of most materials, due to the lack of commitment by the shops to basic pricing, stressing the need to activate the work of supply control and imposing tougher penalties against violators.

Head of the Consumer Protection Department in the Qamishli Division, Mohamed Al-Youssef, stated that the department is working to control markets and prevent fraud, calling on citizens to report violations, while the director of the Syrian Branch of Trade Omar Hami confirmed the availability of all goods in the halls, where two halls were provided with all the necessary materials to receive the Holy Month at reasonable prices.

In Quneitra, the director of the Syrian Branch of Trade, Firas Mahawesh, pointed out that the corporation has provided a wide variety of food and supplies in preparation for the holy month at competitive prices.

The Director of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Engineer Ali Zaitoun, confirmed that the Directorate has intensified patrols of consumer protection on markets and commercial stores to control prices, calling on citizens to submit complaints in the event of any violation.
