Justice will have to look into the way in which shelters for dependent elderly people (Ehpad) have protected their residents from the epidemic. While deaths among residents now number in the hundreds, dozens of families have already taken legal action for "manslaughter, failure to assist someone in danger and endangering the lives of others".

All reproach those responsible for these structures for serious negligence which led to this massacre, as in Mougins in the Alpes-Maritimes. Of the 109 residents of this Ehpad called La Riviera, 36 perished from the Covid-19. Alongside bereaved families who attack this establishment belonging to the Korian group, the town hall of Mougins also brought civil action.
