A hedge burned at Aldi-Süd in Oberpfaffenhofen on Thursday afternoon. The fire department extinguished the fire and prevented a conflagration.
Oberpfaffenhofen - Because an Aldi employee, who is also a member of the Oberpfaffenhofen volunteer fire department, reacted quickly, a wildfire could be prevented yesterday afternoon at Aldi-Süd in Weßling. As the fire brigade announced, passers-by had informed the employee at around 1.30 p.m. that there would be a fire in the rear area of the parking lot. The fire fighter responded immediately and alerted his comrades.
"The extinguishing measures initiated with two C-tubes could prevent the fire from spreading in the hedge of the parking lot," said Commandant Christian Schlosser. "To ensure the supply of extinguishing water on site, our GW-L2 with its 4,000 liters of water was ordered to the site." In this context, Schlosser again emphasizes the high risk of forest fires. It hasn't rained in weeks.
