The permanent representative of Palestine to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, warned against any steps taken by the Israeli occupation in the context of implementing the "Deal of the Century", which was rejected by the whole world, calling on the Security Council and the International Quartet to press the occupation to stop the seizure and annexation plans that undermine any opportunity to establish the Palestinian state.
Mansour said during a session of the Security Council today via video about the situation in the Middle East, that the Israeli occupation authorities, in violation of the United Nations Charter and the provisions of international law, are planning to commit a new crime after announcing their intention to annex lands in the West Bank with the full support of the American administration within the so-called "deal of the century" Which was rejected by the Palestinian people and the whole world, stressing what was stated in the report of the Secretary-General of the United Nations on the implementation of Security Council Resolution 2334 that annexing Palestinian lands undermines the chances of establishing a Palestinian state.
Mansour expressed Palestine’s appreciation for the positions of the Arab, European, African, Asian and Latin American countries opposing the occupation’s plans, indicating that their statements will not force the occupation to implement the international legitimacy decisions and that what is needed now is to implement concrete and practical measures to urgently hold the Israeli occupation in accordance with the responsibility entrusted to the Security Council It also requires the Security Council and the International Quartet to pressure the occupation to stop its expansionist colonial designs on the occupied Palestinian territory.
