Armenian President Armen Sarkisyan affirmed that the entire Armenian people are still awaiting justice in the case of the Armenian massacre, condemning the Turkish regime's continued denial and expressing its gratitude to the countries that recognized them and opened their doors to the survivors and granted them asylum.

In a speech he addressed today to the Armenian people on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the Armenian massacre, Sarkisian said that the position adopted by successive Turkish governments is unacceptable ... as it avoids recognition of the massacre and pursues a policy of denial at the state level, noting that the massacre crime is not subject to the statute of limitations and that recognition of it is Before Turkey and eliminating its consequences, it is a guarantee for the security of Armenia, the Armenian people and the region as well.

And Sarkisian said that the issue of recognizing the massacre that the Armenians bring to the international community and the Turkish system includes a number of elements, including "the duty to remember and not to repeat such a crime and condemn it and eliminate its consequences."

"It is unacceptable to consider the issue of recognizing the Armenian massacre from the perspective of economic or political interests with Ankara, because the world will not move forward with this approach," said Sarkisian, explaining that it is not possible to announce the joint struggle against the phenomena of hatred, racism, denial and other human evils on the one hand and play diplomacy With Turkey on the issue of the Armenian massacre, on the other hand.

The Armenian President added that many countries that have major interests with Turkey have overcome that obstacle and are worthy of respect .. We are grateful to those countries as well as to the countries that opened their doors to the survivors of this disaster and gave them refuge.

He continued: "More than a century has passed since the Armenian massacre and depriving the Armenians of their homeland and their property, but the entire Armenian people are still waiting for the victory of the truth and the achievement of justice." He pointed out that the loss of 1.5 million lives actually affected the Armenian people, whose number today ranges between 10 And 12 million people while this number should have been at least twice.

The Armenian President concluded his speech by saying, "We cannot forget the Armenian massacre and we cannot reconcile with its consequences."

Armenian sources and historians estimate the number of Armenians who were killed by the soldiers of the Ottoman Sultanate at about 1.5 million, which prompted many historians and many countries of the world to consider what happened as a genocide while successive Turkish regimes are trying to evade their legal and moral responsibilities towards this issue by claiming that What happened was a civil war in which between 300 and 500,000 Armenians were killed and an equal number of Turks.
