Actress Silvia Pinal "is delicate" and her daughter Alejandra Guzmán asks for blood donations

(CNN Spanish) - Mexican actress Silvia Pinal "is in delicate health," her daughter, singer Alejandra Guzmán, reported on Twitter on Friday.

"My mom is delicate, I need her help, Rh O negative blood, with a 4-hour fast at the Angeles de Interlomas hospital," wrote Guzmán.

Guzmán did not specify what had happened to Pinal, who is 88 years old.

Pinal was one of the great actresses of the so-called gold age of Mexican cinema. Internationally he is known for his work with the late Spanish director Luis Buñuel. She has also worked on television as an actress and producer and even dabbled in politics.

CNN has sought more information about Silvia Pinal's health status through her representatives and those of Guzmán, but so far they have not responded to our calls.
