Special circumstances require special measures: A judge from the Wolfratshausen District Court moved a divorce procedure from the conference room to the outside.
Wolfratshausen - Special circumstances require special measures, thought a judge from the Wolfratshausen District Court - and moved a divorce procedure out of the boardroom into the open.
Due to the current restrictions on access, there have been almost no negotiations at the district court for four weeks. For at least the next two weeks, the court was probably not yet open to the public as usual. "It is a difficult situation. But we do our best not to let the machine stand still, ”says judge Rosemarie Mamisch.
She has now tried to break down the mountain of divorce proceedings that is gradually piling up with a creative idea: given the prevailing prevailing weather conditions, the idea arose to negotiate outdoors. An invisible open space on the back of the court building (divorce proceedings are generally not public) offers a good opportunity.
Upon her written request, two couples wishing to divorce and those involved in an adoption hearing "expressly expressed their wish to have the appointment take place in the unusual framework," said Mamisch. In a way, a couple experienced a déjà vu: The two Geretsrieder had once celebrated their wedding ceremony in the open air. "This closes a circle," says the judge with a smile, because the weather did the rest: "It was probably quite hot when getting married, but a bit cool when you divorced in the morning."

In any case, the experiment can be described as successful. "It was very humorous overall," was the conclusion after two mutually acceptable divorces under a blue sky.
