(CNN Spanish) - Feminicides, kidnappings and extortion, among other crimes, have decreased in Mexico in the last month, according
to Security Secretary Alfonso Durazo, reported on Friday during the monthly report on public safety.
Durazo said that the increase in members of the police and the army has helped the numbers of different crimes decrease.
According to the Secretary of Security, more members of the police and army have been deployed in Mexico in response to the health emergency due to covid-19.
Durazo offered some examples: the secretary assured that in February 92 cases of femicide were reported and in March 78 cases were reported, Durazo also mentioned that vehicle thefts have decreased from 15,000 to 10,000 in a month.
