Berlin (dpa) - In Germany, more than 152,300 infections with the corona virus had been registered by Friday evening (previous day at 8:15 p.m .: more than 149,900 infections). At least 5454 people infected with the pathogen Sars-CoV-2 have reportedly died nationwide so far (previous day at 8:15 p.m .: 5261). This is the result of an evaluation by the German Press Agency, which takes into account the latest figures from the federal states.
According to estimates by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the number of reproductions as of Thursday was 0.9, as in the two previous days. This means that on average almost every infected person infects another person and the number of new cases decreases slightly.
According to RKI estimates, around 106,800 people in Germany survived the infection. As for other countries, experts also expect a high number of unreported cases in Germany.
According to the statistics of the federal states, Bavaria has particularly high numbers of registered infections with more than 40,400 cases and at least 1548 deaths, North Rhine-Westphalia with more than 31,100 cases and at least 1052 deaths and Baden-Württemberg with more than 30,300 confirmed cases and at least 1203 deaths. The time when a new daily status is reported varies from state to state.
Based on 100,000 inhabitants, Bavaria has the most infections with a value of 309.5. The national average was 183.2. However, the number of tests carried out per 100,000 inhabitants varies in the federal states.
