According to an Italian study, even every fifth  Covid-19 patient who needs hospital treatment would show skin discoloration  or skin changes  on the feet , Bild continues. In some cases, these are also similar to measles, chickenpox or frostbite. The discoloration can also be accompanied by an itchy rash - in some cases, skin crusts also form. Pain is often associated with the rashes.

How exactly the symptoms * occur is not yet fully understood. So that they can be researched further, medical associations call for the precise documentation of cases of this kind. Spanish podiatrists also go so far as to recommend that parents who discolor or have other  skin irritations in their children , as a precaution, keep young patients away from other people and make inquiries by telephone to specialists .
