After the series of fires in Paul-Diehl-Park, which had been keeping the fire department of Graefelfingen in suspense since the beginning of April, the police have now identified a suspect. The 16-year-old is said to be responsible for at least the last incident.

Graefelfing - Four deliberate fires in the Graefelfinger Paul-Diehl-Park, near the highway, have been used by the fire brigade and police since the beginning of April. They always followed the same pattern.

On April 4th, 9th, 11th and 21st there were fires in the evening on a wild grass area in the park. It was mostly drivers on the A 96 who saw the fires glowing in the dark and raised the alarm. No one was injured in the incidents, and the property damage was also limited to a few thousand euros. The fire department prevented the flames from spreading to groups of trees.

The fourth and last fire in the series so far occurred on Tuesday evening and was reported at 9:25 p.m. (we reported). This time, 1000 m2 of grass were on fire.

"Hours after the recent fire, a witness reported to the local service department, who could give a specific indication of the alleged fire layers," said the Munich Police Headquarters on Friday. On this basis, a 16-year-old student from the Munich district was identified as a suspect. He was at least suspicious of having set fire to April 21. The connection with the three other fires are now the subject of further investigations. According to reports, the adolescent is said to be a count's finger.
