Dangerous Ramadan: Kites and Molotov cocktails were fired (Sunday) into the air in Lod that fell on Nail Street and Hasmonean Street as well as near the city's studio.
As a result, Mayor Yair Revivo approached the Minister of Public Security Gilad Arden and the senior police command with a demand to act forcefully in the city.
Outraged residents noted that many calls were made to the police and that there was a sense of lack of control and disarray in the city, and that from the beginning of the holiday, dozens of fireworks and now balloons were burning.
"A balloon landed near the trampoline in our yard and almost caused a fire and disaster," said one resident. Following the balloons, residents of the city called for a rally in front of Mayor Yair Revivo's demand that it pressurize the police to make order in the urban reality. Another resident explained that "we are in danger of life. Everyone talks about the Corona but there is no rule in the city and there is fear."
Another wrote in a Wattsap message: "Everybody will come out. Today is in an apartment for tomorrow, one of us children can be hurt."
Israel Police said to "Israel Today" that "10 police vehicles are now deployed in the city and we are being reinforced. We have seen one balloon and will handle it severely. We urge the public to contact us and complain.
However, officials in the city are not convinced that the police claim is correct, stating that "the police officers do not show enough understanding of the residents' concern. They arrived and took the kite and threw it in the trash." Police say they will do everything to enforce order in the city.
Netanel Isaac, the mayor's deputy, told Israel Today: "Precisely in Corona's days, we are experiencing significant escalation in the city's security. The police and the municipality, but at the same time, demand immediate improvements in personal security and law enforcement.
