This will delight everyone who is eagerly waiting for a plot of land in Peiting: Between Zugspitzstrasse and Bergwerkstrasse, another building area is to be built on a previously private area. Most recently, the community had already launched new construction areas on the Hochweg, the Bachfeld and the Starenweg.

Peiting– Mayor Michael Asam announced the happy news at the recent meeting of the Vacation Committee. As the town hall chief reported, the owner of the approximately 11,000 square meter area had approached the community and offered the area as a possible construction area. The committee was now concerned with a possible development. Market master Fabian Kreitl had worked out two variants. The first provided for 23 smaller plots of around 450 square meters, which would be particularly suitable for semi-detached houses. In the second variant, which the owner also preferred, as Kreitl added, the plot size was between 540 and 550 square meters. In this case, 18 detached houses would have space on the site.

Opinions differed on the panel. "I would prefer variant one, since significantly more people would come to the train here," said Christian Lory (independent). This was also agreed by Norbert Merk (CSU), who referred to the other construction areas, where they had mainly shown larger plots. "Many will not be able to afford these." It was exactly the same with Silvia Ruhfass-Bückle, who also pleaded for the smaller plots.

Both double and single houses

While Franz Seidel (BVP) clearly tended towards the second variant, Herbert Salzmann (SPD) and Peter Ostenrieder (CSU) could imagine a mixed solution. "There are often problems with semi-detached houses, so I am in favor of allowing both," said the designated mayor.

In the end, this proposal prevailed. With him, the mayor will now negotiate with the property owner. The councils agreed that a development at this point would fit well into the townscape. Only the proximity to the industrial area worried Seidel. But then the master builder was able to calm the 2nd mayor. "We don't expect any emissions issues."

The design for the new construction area on Drosselstraße in Peiting is taking shape. Because the need for affordable living space is great, two multi-family houses are to be built on the site in addition to single and double houses.

When the new municipal council meets in Peiting for its first meeting on May 12, three of the CSU's founders will be missing. Gerhard Heiß sat at the council table for the Christian Socialists for a proud 48 years, his group colleagues Herwig Skalitza and Pankratia Holl are only slightly behind him with 42 and 36 years of committee work. A conversation about election campaigns with Franz Josef Strauß, the greatest disappointments and what their successors should take to heart.
